Google on Crawling & Rendering Webpage

Google on Crawling & Rendering a Page Simultaneously

On various occasions, Google has claimed that crawling and rendering occurred simultaneously. However, we all know that there is considerable time taken between both these operations.

On a query raised on Twitter, John Mueller of Google said that “We’re working towards getting crawling & rendering closer together, but that’s still a looong way off. Rendering at scale is really hard & expensive ( for those rendering & those being rendered)”.

So, the old question again comes to mind; what about JS, use of tabs or image carousel etc. Should we avoid these things? My personal view is nothing to worry. If users are fine, Google won’t care.
