Google Updated Its Make Your Link Crawlable Page

In a recent update, Google has made some changes in its content on “Make Your Links Crawlable” page.

A new section is added on the page about “Link to Resolvable URLs” where they clearly mentioned;

Ensure that the URL linked to by your <a> tag must be an actual web address that Googlebot can send a request to.”

By adding some examples, they mentioned that JavaScript within <a> tag can’t be crawled by Googlebot.

So, if webmasters want Google to crawl their link then they would have to avoid Javascript within <a> tag.
