These days, it is one of the standard practices by webmasters to include FAQ sections with its structured data in their websites. It is only because of the various benefits that FAQ sections have. Some of these benefits are:

  1. Improved user experience
  2. Quick and helpful information to customers
  3. Great for voice search queries
  4. Placement in Google Featured Snippet section
  5. Great conversions etc.

These benefits are truly alluring to have FAQ sections in our website but, while implementing it, we need to be careful now as Google has updated its FAQ structured data guideline.

In this update, Google informed everyone that there is no issue with having same FAQ content like same question and answer on multiple pages of a site but the markup for that FAQ section should be used once for the entire site.

Google FAQ Guideline Update

The newly added line in Google FAQ Developer Document is “If you have FAQ content that is repetitive on your site (meaning, the same question and answer appear on multiple pages on your site), mark up only one instance of that FAQ for your entire site.”.

So, now in our website, we can add a FAQ section with its schema in only one page and in other pages we can simply add the FAQ section (no schema).
