Google Launched New Removal Report in Search Console
Posted On : January 29th, 2020 By : Diptimayee Mohanty To : Google UpdateYesterday, Google has launched a new version of the Removal Report in Search Console. Webmasters can access this new report by signing into Google Search Console and then under Index Menu, go to Removals.
This new search console report mainly focuses on 3 things.
- Temporary Removals
- Outdated Content
- SafeSearch Filtering Requests
1. Temporary Removals
This removal request helps webmasters to remove some specific content of their website from Google search results. Google has also mentioned that a successful removal request lasts about 6 months. There are 2 types of removal requests listed under it.
- Temporary remove URL: It will hide the URL from Google Search results for about six months and clear the cached copy of the page.
- Clear cache URL: It clears the cached page and wipes out the page description snippet in Search results until the page is crawled again.
2. Outdated content
This section provides information on removal requests made through the public Remove Outdated Content tool. This can be used by anyone to update Google search results showing information that is no longer present on a page.
3. SafeSearch Filtering
This section shows webmasters a history of their website pages which were marked by Google users as adult content using the SafeSearch Suggestion tool. These submitted URLs are then reviewed, and if Google feels that this submitted content should be filtered from SafeSearch results then, these URLs are tagged as adult content.
