Having more number of pages is fine when each page stands for an individual broad topic or idea.<\/p>\n<p>But, if you have <strong>one big page<\/strong> and you are chopping that page\u2019s content to create <strong>multiple pages<\/strong> then it\u2019s a bad idea for sure. You shouldn\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n<p>In a recent webmaster\u2019s hangout, <strong>John Mueller<\/strong> said that, when you split a strong page\u2019s content into multiple pages, it becomes difficult for Google to find out the intent behind those pages.<\/p>\n<p>According to John, there are various aspects of a big longer page which make it useful for a variety of people.
