As Google Speed Update is coming from July 2018, webmasters are now very much concerned about the page speed of their websites. With this update, Google will now start considering both mobile & desktop page speed.

And now, we can see, webmasters getting confused about whether Google will use the desktop or mobile page speed score for ranking.

In the recent Google Webmaster Central office hours hangout, Barry Schwartz of Search Engine Roundtable asked this question to Google’s John Mueller.

In its reply, John said, it depends on searchers. It means, if users are searching from Desktop, then Google will use the desktop page speed score and if from mobile then Google will use the Mobile page speed score.

As we all know, Google always provide more preference to user experience and having better page speed on both mobile and desktop is one important factor from UX perspective.

So, it’s high time for webmasters to think about their website’s page speed.
