Recently, Google has added a location tab for hotel search in its local knowledge panel. Google has added this tab to provide the location score of a hotel to users who search hotels in that location. This location score ranges from 1 to 5, with 5 being the best.

The location score for a hotel is calculated by considering its

1. Proximity to things to do
2. Proximity to transit
3. Airport access and
4. Data from Google Maps

So, to get this result, you have to search for “Hotels in (Your Desired Area)” on your mobile device and then have to click on any of the result placed in the local pack.

This feature is now broadly available for all mobile users.

Note: For now, the location tab is not showing when direct hotel names like “Hotel Riu Plaza New York Times Square” are searched.
